Our clients work with our landscape architects, maintenance account managers and foremen to devise your tailored maintenance program. We offer flexibility in frequency and levels of control. 

Our crew leaves a weekly report with each client outlining what they have done during that visit. We invite our clients to keep an open line of communication with us by leaving door hangers for your requests. Our trucks are equipped with radios, and the crews carry pagers in order to streamline communication efficiency.  As an added benefit, each maintenance client is assigned an account manager to assist with seasonal color selections at no additional fee. Also our landscape architects are available to you by appointment for design and installation related services.

Fertilization and Spraying
Our goal in fertilization is to keep plants healthy so insects and diseases won’t thrive. We fertilize small trees, shrubs and ground cover once a year with an all-purpose fertilizer recommended by the Louisiana Extension Service. Applications of iron, phosphorous, etc. will be applied for specific plant needs and seasonal color. We treat minor insects with horticultural oil or detergent-based insecticides as needed. However, we advise that all lawns be sprayed six times a year (for fertilization, control of insects, weeds and disease) by a professional horticultural spray company.

Mowing We mow our lawns with mulching mowers designed to return the nutrients to the soil. For the optimum health of lawns we never cut more than one third of blade height. Please let us know if you have other preferences. Our crew uses hand edgers and string trimmers to obtain crisp, clean edges on our lawns. Pruning We prune small trees, shrubs and ground cover to maintain desired forms and any other necessary pruning which coincides with general horticultural practices. Trees that are over 14' in height are out of our small tree classification for pruning and should be handled by a tree company. Particular questions about this are addressed at the initial meeting on-site. Bedding Weed Control The time to prepare for the oncoming of weeds is in the dormant season. We manually weed beds and use a post emergent weed control in larger open areas. We also keep your paved surfaces free of weeds growing in cracks and along curbs. Weeds are minimized by applications of mulching material semi-annually. There is an additional fee for the use and installation of mulching materials that will be billed based on the quantities used. Maintenance time for weeding may increase if mulch is not applied and the monthly price will be adjusted accordingly. Weekly Clean-Up We remove debris from all lawns, curbs and landscaped areas on a weekly basis. This clean up, however, does not include clean up of pet refuse in lawn or garden areas. It also does not include removal of chemical spills from painters or debris from other contractors.

Watering
Landscape Images monitors automatic irrigation systems. This service involves checking the controller routinely and operating the system several times a year to ensure proper function. Any necessary repairs will be billed in addition to your monthly maintenance fee. Please contact us for an evaluation of your garden for the installation of an irrigation system. Here are some benefits to owning an irrigation system:

Hand watering of gardens can be very labor intensive and cost prohibitive; for this reason we do not provide this service.

Protecting your garden and your investment

Freeze Protection Freeze protection is provided and must be requested at time of contract in order to plan ahead for these unpredictable events. There is an initial fee for the amount of weed cloth required during one specific season, and labor to install freeze cloth is billed accordingly to the time spent covering and uncovering the plant material. Freeze protection cloth will be stored on your property in a noted location so we can efficiently apply and remove it. Mulching the Roots Mulching plantings before a season of freezes acts as insulation to the root system. The mulch also keeps the roots damp and less likely to be damaged by harsh winds.

Irrigation Protection Irrigation systems installed by Landscape Images are equipped with a backflow prevented valve that can be drained in case of a freeze. Draining the valve and turning it back on is included in this service and billed at an hourly rate. Watering is very important before a freeze if there has been no rainfall beforehand. This keeps the plants from becoming dry and brittle and more susceptible to snapping or breaking.

 Horticultural Assessments
We offer guidance in assessing tree and lawn health. We have an ongoing relationship with various tree and horticultural spray companies, and we guide our clients through these processes.
