For this Landscape reveal on Antonine Street, that’s the quiet work this project is doing: a brick walk and new steps, flagstone set into pine-needle mulch, and layers of sweet olive, pineapple guava, foxtail ferns, and dwarf mondo all reading as one foreground.
Texture is doing the structural work here: underfoot, at eye level, and in the way the light moves through the garden, so everyday feels steadier and more intentional.

This front garden on State Street is built as a series of clear moves: a straight walk to the door, layered evergreen structure, and two urns that hold the porch corners with scale and light-catching foliage.
Japanese yew, palmetto, camellia, and a ground plane of dwarf mondo and agapanthus keep the planting legible in August and throughout the year, so the front of the house feels composed every day. Every home has a passage nobody photographs, the stretch between driveway and good part.
This one on State Street served as a cut-through instead of a destination.
We kept the screening. Removing everything else made way for flagstone underfoot, jasmine on wire, and layered plantings of mahonia, foxtail fern, camellia, and Japanese maple carrying it year-round.
