Laurel Street Modern Canopy
A sleek pool garden framed by palms, hollies, and magnolias on Laurel Street.

At this Uptown New Orleans residence, clean architectural lines and a contemporary pool are softened by a landscape design that layers palms, hollies, and magnolias with tropical accents. Sabal and Mediterranean Fan Palms provide height and structure, while graceful bamboo, sasanquas, and gardenias introduce movement and seasonal interest. Textural plantings—ferns, ginger, ligularia, and Black-Eyed Susans—create a vibrant ground plane that ties the design together. Through thoughtful landscape design, installation, and ongoing maintenance, the garden balances sleek modern architecture with lush, livable greenery tailored to the New Orleans climate.
